For the last couple of months, the DJCC Wine Tasting committee has had the privilege of meeting weekly at Brian’s Wine Warehouse. Brian’s is a quaint little wine store with a selection of great wines, many of which you may not come by easily in other stores. Brian’s is a little out of the way an has no significant sinage to mark the location but sits comfortably at the end of a little strip mall on Monticello, just west of McKinney adjacent to the alleyway.
Last Friday, I decided to stop in and pick up a bottle of wine and had a chance to meet Brian himself for the first time. Friendly, unassuming and he handed me a glass of wine as soon as I walked in the door, before he knew of my affiliation with the DJCC. I think he just made a friend, and customer, for life.
If you live in Big D or ever happen to be in town I highly recommend stopping by Brian’s. And while you are there ask if Bruce is around, you’d be hard pressed to find a more genuinely knowledgeable and helpful wine guru that will make you feel at ease no matter how much or little you know about vino.
